foodpanda’s Communication Head Steps Down – New Leader Announced!

After four years in the position, Evelyn Tay (shown left) has resigned as foodpanda’s vice president of communications, public relations, and sustainability, APAC. According to foodpanda, the team’s functional leadership has been assumed by Amanda Goh (shown right), the head of public affairs. She answers directly to foodpanda CEO John Fang.

“Tay has left foodpanda after close to four years as the VP of communications, public affairs, and sustainability,” stated foodpanda.

“Tay had a key role in making foodpanda the go-to platform in 11 APAC markets during her time there. It read, ‘She is taking some time off to travel the world and recharge.'”

Tay was in charge of corporate communications and PR in her capacity. In addition, she oversaw regulatory relations and public policy in all the nations under her supervision and oversaw Foodpanda’s sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiatives across Asia.

“Taking this breather was something I have been wanting to do and finally, the time was right – I am still a mega foodpanda champion through and through and wish for the business and my beloved colleagues to continue thriving,” Tay stated.

Tay bid farewell to her country, regional, and public affairs, and ESG teams in a LinkedIn post. She also expressed her gratitude to Delivery Hero’s leadership and colleagues for entrusting her with “global public affairs work and the chance to experience wonderful Berlin hospitality.”

“For now, I am prioritising [recharging] and travels and if there are interesting opportunities along the way, I’m always open to [checking] things out,” Tay said. “It’s important to me that it should be a gig I can contribute my experiences to.”

Tay worked in senior global and regional roles in communications for multinational corporations for more than 20 years prior to starting foodpanda. She led Uber’s APAC communications from 2014 to 2015 and served as Tesla Hong Kong’s APAC communications and PR director from 2018 to 2019.

Her longest position was as corporate marketing director of SPTS Technologies, where she oversaw all global PR and corporate marketing campaigns and strategies. The position was held by her from 2010 to 2014.

As for Goh, he was head of public affairs starting in April 2023 and led foodpanda’s public affairs APAC from September 2021 to March 2023.

Goh worked as a diplomat for the Singaporean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as a regional director at White Rook Advisory before joining foodpanda.

In a related development, foodpanda just appointed Jaslin Goh, the CMO of PayMe (seen in the middle), to the position of APAC vice president of marketing, replacing Anna Znamenskaya.

Goh, who is based in Hong Kong, will answer directly to Fang. She oversees 11 of foodpanda’s Asian markets in her new position, which includes Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and the Philippines.

Goh, who has more than 20 years of expertise, will lead the regional marketing department and collaborate closely with regional marketing directors to promote brand loyalty and growth throughout Asia.
