With immediate effect, Grey has appointed Sarah Trombetta to CEO of APAC, extending her current role to oversee Grey’s operations in the area.
Trombetta’s new boss in her new position is Grey’s worldwide CEO Laura Maness. Trombetta represented Grey and WPP as the AMEA chief client officer for P&G from 2021 till her elevation. She had been CEO of Grey Hong Kong from 2016 to 2019 before that.
Trombetta, who has over 20 years of expertise in the field, held the position of CEO of Red Havas AU from 2019 to 2021. She has also held positions at KAIZO, Hill+Knowlton Strategies, and Brand Influence GCI Media Group.
Maness stated: “Our ongoing reinvention plans prioritize the Asia-Pacific area, which is a hyper-evolving marketplace.” I’m sure that under Trombetta’s direction, our teams will be nurtured and supported to provide even more value for our clients because of her client-focused leadership, inventiveness, and modernism. I am thrilled to assign Sarah to this important position as she is a vibrant and energetic leader.”
I’m a Grey boomerang because I genuinely care about assisting our teams and clients in doing their greatest work to date and because I have a strong affection for this organization. I’m thrilled to exercise those creative, commercial, and culture-building abilities in a way that better benefits our entire region, having previously held the position of CEO of a Grey studio in a nearby community. For our amazing clientele, I’m excited to provide development through our Famously Effective work,” Trombetta remarked.
“Our unrestricted goal to lead growth for Grey’s clients and the agency will be fueled and nurtured by Masa’s prominence in the market and client relationships. Masa will undoubtedly raise the bar even further, and I look forward to Grey Tokyo’s award-winning creative standards continuing to grow,” Trombetta stated.
Masahiko Okazaki has been elevated to the position of chief executive officer of Grey Tokyo as part of Grey’s leadership reorganization, which is effective immediately. Okazaki joined Grey in January 2022 after leaving TBWA/Hakuhodo, where he most recently served as chief operating officer.
“I am thrilled and confident that we will build exponentially on our success,” Masahiko stated. “It is an honor to be named CEO of Grey Tokyo.”
Lee Kum Kee awarded Grey Hong Kong the creative reins for its food division back in April after a competitive pitch in January 2024.
The agency was picked because, according to Duffy Lau, general manager of Grey Hong Kong, the team showed off its exceptional craft and creative ability with a daring, real, and distinctive approach.
